Cookie Policy

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — for example that you are logged in, or how you arrived at the site. Cookies can be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by a service the site uses, such as Google), and session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (kept for a set period). This page lists every category of cookie used on JPG to PDF Converter Free and explains how you can control them. Our Privacy Policy covers the wider picture.
2. Cookies this Site uses
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
jpgtopdf_token | Keeps an account holder logged in. httpOnly (JavaScript cannot read it) and essential for the login feature. Set only when someone logs in — ordinary visitors converting files never receive it. | Essential, first-party | 7 days |
_ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4) | Anonymous, aggregate statistics about visits and page usage, only if analytics is enabled in the Site settings. | Analytics, third-party | Up to 2 years (set by Google) |
AdSense cookies incl. DoubleClick IDE, test_cookie | Serving, personalising and measuring advertisements, and preventing the same ad from being shown too often. Only if advertising is enabled in the Site settings. | Advertising, third-party | Set by Google (typically up to 13 months) |
The converters themselves need no cookies at all: your files are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded, with or without cookies enabled.
3. Local storage (not a cookie)
Browsers also offer local storage, a similar on-device store that is not a cookie and is never sent to a server. This Site uses local storage in one place only: the blog post editor in the admin area keeps an automatic backup (autosave) of a draft being written, on the administrator's own device, so work is not lost if the tab closes. Ordinary visitors converting files do not have anything stored this way, and you can clear local storage at any time from the same browser privacy settings used for cookies.
4. How Google uses cookies in advertising
This Site displays ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, to personalise those ads where personalised advertising is enabled, and to measure ad performance and prevent fraud. The information collected by advertising cookies is processed by Google and other participating ad vendors under their own policies. Google explains this in detail at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Managing and opting out of cookies
You stay in control of cookies in several ways:
- Personalised ads: turn them off in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info/choices (in Europe: youronlinechoices.eu). You will still see ads, but they will not be personalised using those cookies.
- Google Analytics: install Google's opt-out add-on to prevent GA from collecting your visit data.
- Your browser: Chrome (Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies), Firefox (Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data), Safari (Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data) and Edge (Settings → Cookies and site permissions) all let you view, block and delete cookies, or block third-party cookies only.
If you block or delete cookies, the converters will still work normally. Login sessions will not be remembered, and advertising and analytics preferences cannot be stored.
6. Consent
Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies (for example in the EEA and the UK), analytics and personalised advertising cookies are used on the basis of that consent, and the opt-outs above let you withdraw or limit it at any time. Essential cookies, such as the login session cookie, do not require consent because the feature you requested cannot work without them.
Withdrawing consent never affects the converters themselves: because your files are processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded, there is no account, upload history or file data attached to any cookie on this Site, and nothing about your conversions is shared with advertisers.
7. Updates and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when the cookies we use change; the current version will always be posted here with its last-updated date. For any question about cookies or privacy, email contact@example.com.
